Wedding Date: April 14, 2019
Leanne Minimo and Michael Lopez are an active couple, so when Michael invited Leanne to join him for an April run in Tree Tops Park in Florida, she thought nothing of it. About a minute into their run, Michael started walking through an area covered in hundreds of balloons, and an oblivious Leanne thought he was walking right through someone’s Easter party. As she walked toward him, she noticed that all the Polaroids pasted on the balloons and trees were photos of her and Michael through the years. Michael had his proposal written on a sign at the edge of the balloon-scape, surrounded by flowers and more pictures.
For their wedding, the couple wanted to keep the décor minimal and the colors simple in order to enhance the natural beauty of the Ebell Long Beach. The design blended tropical Havana Nights vibes, to pay homage to Michael’s Cuban heritage, with trendy boho elements. Minimalist stationery and muted pampas grass met pops of bright color, palms, monstera leaves and custom table numbers inspired by Cuban postcards. Vibrant orange and coral accents, anthuriums and white anemones stood out against the bridesmaids’ pale champagne-hued dresses. The candlelit venue was adorned in tropical greenery with arrangements of white ranunculus, butterscotch garden roses, orange stock and tropical greens centering the reception tables, accented with pampas grass and amber bottles. Behind the sweetheart table, high on a mantel, sat a grand pink neon sign reading “Besame Mucho.”
