I’m Trent Stevens, a Southern California and Central Coast-based wedding videographer and the proud founder of Jasper & Oak—named after my cat and the beautiful coastal oak chaparral that inspires my work.
My love for storytelling runs deep. Raised by parents who met in a college photography class, I grew up surrounded by cameras and creativity. My late father owned one of the first digital one-hour photo labs in the country, giving me early exposure to the evolving world of visual storytelling. My journey has taken me from big-wave surf photography—with my work featured on the cover of The Surfer’s Journal—to visual journalism at Ventura’s Brooks Institute. Along the way, my photography has been published by Patagonia, Surfer Magazine, The Olympic Channel, and more.
I fell in love with wedding videography in 2016 while filming a friend’s wedding. The emotion, energy, and personal stories made it one of the most meaningful experiences behind the camera. After years of honing my craft, I fully committed to this path in 2022, founding Jasper & Oak with the vision of creating wedding films that are both cinematic and deeply personal, preserving these moments as treasured family histories.
For me, wedding filmmaking isn’t just about the visuals—it’s about the small, fleeting moments that make the day unforgettable. The nervous anticipation before the ceremony, the quiet exchange of glances, the overwhelming joy of a packed dance floor. These are the details that matter, the ones that define a couple’s story.
