Grand View Malibu – Malibu

Boasting lush mountain and coastal views, Grand View Malibu is the perfect place to say “I do.” The magnificent estate, accentuated with verdant landscaping and stone walkways, is just an eight-minute drive from the Pacific Coast Highway. It offers a stunning backdrop for proposals, ceremonies and receptions, as illustrated in this beautiful design by Cortney Buczkowski of Manifestive Events. “I was inspired by the fact that Grand View Malibu has both mountain and coastal views. Not many properties have both unique landscapes, so I wanted to lean into that.” Her vision, captured by Jillian Rose Photography, took advantage of Grand View’s beautiful attributes, such as the gorgeous balcony overlooking the canyon and the estate’s natural colors. “We did tones of clay, earth and shell to complement the space,” says Buczkowski. “There are beautiful wildflowers growing up the winding road to the venue, so it felt essential to choose a lush, natural floral aesthetic.” Vendors for the styled shoot featured below and in the cover photo are listed below.

440 Elm – Long Beach

440 Elm is a special events venue located in the East Village Arts District of downtown Long Beach. One of the oldest church structures in the area, it was built in 1913 by famous local architect Elmer Grey, who also designed the Beverly Hills Hotel, the Pasadena Playhouse and Caltech. With this history, 440 Elm is awash in charm and character while offering a multitude of luxe ceremony and reception spaces: The Sanctuary, one of the largest ballrooms (excluding hotel ballrooms) in the Los Angeles/Orange County area, and the 6,000-square-foot Outdoor Plaza, are large enough to host 200–450 guests, while the intimate Parlour, which accommodates as many as 60 guests, features exposed brick and high ceilings. The facility, in its entirety, includes a massive 23,000-square-foot building; indoor and outdoor event spaces; smaller rooms for tastings, getting ready and production; a side garden; valet parking; and a parking lot at the back of the structure. The property’s historic church is revered for its sheer mass and capacity, once housing an impressive 2,200 people for Sunday school and worship. Now it welcomes the nuptials of all faiths and cultures. Operated by Bite Catering Couture and helmed by chef Elizabeth Goel, the creative culinary team at 440 Elm is ready to create custom menus and beverages to suit any taste.

Looking to continue the party after tying the knot at one of Malibu’s many venues? Then the upscale Bamboo Room is the ideal spot for a variety of post-wedding options, from bottle service to a full buyout. This hidden gem, located in the heart of Westlake Village, is a luxe nightclub and event space boasting cocktails crafted by in-house mixologists, an outdoor patio with a firepit and a DJ spinning on weekends until 2 a.m. Couples can keep the party going and take advantage of the club’s planned events by booking a table with bottle service in the lounge or on the outdoor patio. Those who want to keep it in the family can reserve the Library Room, a private space complete with cozy lounges and tables, plus a private bar and outdoor patio. Additionally, guests can be provided with wristbands so they can mix and mingle in all the spaces and take advantage of the live music scene. For couples keen on privacy, the Bamboo Room is available as a full buyout, which includes bar service and any customizations from décor to DJs. “We are super flexible and can curate any option desired,” says manager Romy Bennett. Bamboo Room is also a great option for pre-wedding celebrations ranging from bachelor and bridal parties to showers and rehearsal dinners. Best of all?
