Anastasiya and Oleg were born in the same city in the middle of Siberia, Russia and even attended the same university—but their paths didn’t cross until they both were living in Moscow, a city of more than 12 million people. "A lot has changed since then," says Anastasiya. "We traveled all over the world, we changed apartments, our jobs, countries and even continents, but in spite of everything we were always there for each other."
With guests traveling from around the world, the duo wanted to host an simple and elegant wedding in a villa-style setting near the Pacific. Palos Verdes’ La Venta Inn fit the vision with its quaint garden and Spanish Colonial feel. Marisa Nicole Events set the scene for an intimate dinner party with a palette of green and white with hints of warm peach hues mingled with vintage touches, like cut glass goblets and lace table runner.
Inspired by Los Angeles-based designer Katie May’s wedding gowns, Anastasiya set to work creating a custom-designed lace gown. Her tousled updo was finished with headband adorned with peach garden roses. Anastasiya’s lush bouquet featured fully blossomed pink peonies, juliet garden roses, ranunculus and hydrangeas with accents of silver dollar eucalyptus, maiden hair and olive branch.
Dark, rustic wood tables boasted a romantic arrangement of pastel garden flowers, including fully bloomed hydrangeas, garden rosesand jasmine, cascading from a silver mercury glass urn.
Anastasiya and Oleg got the dancing started with “Can’t Help Falling in Love with You” by Andrea Bocelli. After A few songs after, their family and friends joined in to dance to music performed by Chris Murray’s band and later toasted with champagne served in antique wine glasses. Anastasiya and Oleg’s wedding cake was vibrant and whimsical with organic berries. Paired with the champagne, the cake was delicious and ended the summer night on a sweet note.
