Having been together for 13 years, Barbara and Michael Soh celebrated their union with friends, family and food, with a decided emphasis on the last. The couple’s gastronomic passions were evident on their programs, which gave the number of tacos eaten and bowls of noodles slurped. They hosted their wedding-meets-culinary-adventure at the hip Millwick in downtown Los Angeles, with Master Plans Events and Designs helming the day. Since food has long been a unifying connection for the couple, showcasing their favorite dishes was an important part of their wedding. “Food has taught us more about each other, other cultures and the kind of lifestyle we want to live,” explain the Sohs. After Barbara and Michael exchanged vows in an outdoor garden, servers swept through the crowd with hors d’oeuvres from the couple’s favorite West Hollywood restaurant, the acclaimed Night + Market.

The tasting continued with a family-style Thai dinner featuring their favorite dishes set in a café-style atmosphere. The star of the sweets show was their pie bar, which they ceremoniously cut in lieu of a cake. And just when guests thought they were coming out of their food comas, the couple unveiled tray-passed snacks and tacos from Los Angeles’ famous taco cart Guerrilla Tacos. “We felt that the dishes served exemplified our connection with Los Angeles and the food we enjoy eating,” say the Sohs.
