When conjuring up a vision of California, many think of sunny skies and crystal-clear views of the Pacific — however, you can't guarantee that kind of vision on your wedding day. Our coastline, from north to south, can be temperamental when it comes to weather. So how can we ensure our nuptials will embody that Golden-State picture? Allow this team of wedding professionals to demonstrate.

This editorial shoot at Alila Marea Beach Resort "perfectly blends timeless elegance with modern flair," says Chelsea Oler, Social Media Manager for Friar Tux. "The classic black and white fashion choices created a chic, sophisticated foundation, while vibrant pops of sunny yellow in the florals and décor brought an unexpected and joyful twist." Our model couple walks down an alfresco aisle lined with bunches of tiny yellow blossoms to an arch sporting the same flowers — all set against the expansive and serene backdrop of the ocean. A classic sweetheart gown with a sexy exposed-corset bodice and a sleek crushed velvet tuxedo in traditional colors were the perfect pairing for the bride and groom.

The lounge vignettes echoed the color-pop ideal, sporting orange and yellow details on the neutral pieces. Reception seating leaned modern with sharp lines, while taper candles and multi-height vases lent themselves to romance. The event's shade of yellow is in rare form on this long table -- the color truly popped against the crisp white linen. Our bride changed into her party dress — a mini that features the same subtle boning in the bodice as her first gown — and the groom into his second jacket — a very debonair white-and-black. "Every detail of this shoot felt fresh, stylish and effortlessly cool," notes Oler.
