Dannielle and Efren's beautiful wedding paid homage to their shared Mexican heritage with vibrant colors and lively festivities. The couple met in Santa Monica, California through a mutual friend. A few months into their courtship Efren relocated to Mexico City for work, but the long-distance relationship did not prevent them from falling further in love. After Efren proposed to Dannielle on Christmas Eve in front of her family, the couple decided to incorporate elements of their Mexican and Californian heritage into the celebration.
The ceremony made sure to commemorate the importance of the couple's families. Both Dannielle and Efren’s parents and godparents participated in the ceremony, and a picture of Efren's late father was placed on the altar. Dannielle's then 4-year-old daughter, Penelope, served as flower girl and had a special role in the ceremony as Efren gifted her a ring of her own to symbolize his commitment to her.
Dannielle and Efren chose bright, vivid florals and decor to give the space a celebratory feel. Upon entry to the outdoor reception, guests were greeted with fine tequila and sangrita. A mariachi band brought merriment and spirited dancing to the cocktail hour. The place settings included hand-painted maracas with guests’ names, and the seating chart featured Lotería cards. Dinner consisted of quintessential California farm-to-table cuisine, and several favorite Mexican delicacies completed the meal. Salud!
