If you’re anything like me, you have spent what feels like a lifetime dreaming about this moment. I pretty much had my entire wedding planned in my head before I ever found a groom. While the details of the day are important, my top priority is feeling absolutely amazing throughout the process and on my big day!

As someone who has spent four years working in the health and fitness industry, I know firsthand how healthy living can lead to a boost in confidence and happiness. From one bride to another, I’m looking forward to sharing my pre-wedding health and fitness plan to help you look and feel your best on your big day!

Just so you can get to know me and my fiancé a little better, here are some details about my groom, my engagement, and how I plan on looking and feeling healthy for my wedding.

My Groom:

I will be marrying Anthony Lococo this upcoming summer. Ah…Lauren Lococo; I hope I’m not the only one who gets a little giddy when saying their new name. Anthony and I are high school sweethearts and began dating when I was just 15 years old. He is my best friend and greatest cheerleader; in our relationship, it is all about the little things like as kisses on the forehead and finding love notes in the sock drawer.

My Engagement:

Anthony and I celebrated our 8 year anniversary in Austin, Texas, hiking and zip lining over Lake Travis. We then traveled home to Dallas that evening for dinner and after, we walked under the adorable path of arches in Klyde Warren Park. We stopped at a park bench to take in the beautiful city views and Anthony pulled out his phone to show me a video he created for our anniversary. The video opened with, “8 years ago something special started..,” and proceeded with pictures from when we met up until now. The photos were put to the song, “Marry Me” by Train and the final image that appeared contained the words “there’s something that I would like to ask you…” Anthony dropped to his knee and asked me to marry him. Fortunately, it was all captured with photographs!

My Pre-Wedding Health & Fitness Plan:

There are so many similarities between planning a wedding and getting in shape for the big day. Below is an overview of how I plan on kick starting my pre-wedding health and fitness journey.

Create a Vision:

Just like brides envision their wedding details, creating a vision for how you want to look and feel on your big day is just as important. All brides deserve to look and feel their best!

I like to cut from magazines or print off pictures and words that embody everything I wish to be and feel on my wedding day. On my board you can find words such as radiant, bliss, smile, energy, real beauty, and love as well as images of dumbbells, bikinis, running shoes and fit-spirational women.

Build a Support Group:

Wedding planning can be a stressful time, but surrounding yourself with positive and supportive individuals can help alleviate the pressure. My guess is you’re not the only one who wants to look and feel amazing on your wedding day, so why not enlist some of your bridesmaids, family members, and even your groom to support you in your health and fitness goals?!

My fiancé and I set a goal to hit the gym together 5 days per week. We also scouted out some beautiful parks and running trails in our neighborhood to take advantage on warm days!

Get Going:

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when trying to reach your end goal. Just think about how much goes into planning an entire wedding; for that reason, we as brides take it one appointment at a time. Similarly, you can take your health and fitness goals, one workout and one meal at a time. Focus on doing just one thing a day to get you closer to your goals.

I love journaling and writing in my planner, so each night, I jot down my one healthy step. This helps me gain momentum and motivation to continue taking action steps towards my goals!

So, create a vision, build your support group, and get going!

Until next time,

Lauren
