When we think "boho bride" we immediately picture pretty headpieces paired with natural locks, flowing gowns and organic blooms. While there are tons of boho-chic accessories out there, adding a homemade touch to your ensemble can make your look all the more meaningful. Home & Family's Paige Hemmis is showing us how to make a dreamy boho veil, and even admits she wishes she'd made one for her own "I Dos" to musician Jason Short last year. Hemmis' version includes strips of suede, beads, feathers and lace, but you could swap/add any of your own materials to make the headpiece uniquely you. We promise you don't have to be a DIY maven, or even the host of the Hallmark Channel's Home & Family to pull together this one-of-a-kind boho headpiece.
Steps:
1. Pick fabric (either tulle or organza). We will be using tulle and scalloped lace beaded material.
2. Decide whether you want a crown/headpiece or a simple comb in the back to hold the veil. We will be doing one of each.
3. Decide size of veil that you would like. We will be doing two different lengths: fingertip and elbow.
4. Collect the embellishments you would like to use. We will be using beads, feathers and flowers (boho is generally things you find naturally occurring in the world/earth).
5. Using your desired headpiece and add tulle to it using hot glue and a needle and thread.
6. Add your embellishments with using hot glue and a needle and thread.
