This winter styled shoot bt Kimberlee Miller Photography and Wheat and Honey is filled with a few of our favorite things, like a gorgeous rustic table setting, complete with fur accents and sweet plaid napkins. Touches of gold in the silverware and antler napkin rings add a hint of elegance and charm. Striking floral arrangements of blushes, reds and greenery by Belle of the Ball Designs created a beautiful aura of winter warmth. The elegant three tiered wedding cake adorned in blush florals complete with faux wood detailing and a reindeer motif make for the perfect blend of romance and winter ambiance. The wedding gown added a stark white contrast to the rustic feel all while being perfectly accessorized for winter. Simple yet stunning makeup by Cheek to Cheek Artistry and jewelry by Urban Outfitters beautifully accent the gown.
Says Miller of her inspiration for this shoot: "I have always been in love with shooting my portraits outdoors and amongst the trees. I recently was able to visit Idaho and the beauty of the trees and snow just captured my imagination. After doing around 10 stylized shoots this year, I wanted to do something so small with just an amazing bouquet and cake. But once you start shopping and finding things, especially in my favorite season, you can easily go crazy. I met a bridesmaid at a wedding last month that I thought was so gorgeous and regal that I literally walked up to her and said “you will have to model for me some day." I contacted her and she jumped right in.
Next was a dress to compete with her beauty, something wintery but in style and not overdone. Camarillo Bridal told me that the plunging neckline was up and coming and I knew I wanted to wrap her with scarves and fur pieces and it just fit so well. But what to go on that gorgeous neckline that was not traditional or got lost? When I saw it in the window of Urban Outfitters, I knew it was a show stopper. The table setting was so fun and easy. I wanted a holiday feel, but not so red and green and in your face. So I found a scarf and rolled it into a napkin and build everything around that. The golden tones with the holiday feel just made everything so earthly but festive. All the scarfs and furs were used multiple times to keep the theme tied together including the olive green scarf as a runner! The color scheme was sent to Belle of the Ball and Frost it to build stunning florals and a one of a kind cake with a cracked wood piece look and sugar flowers. That was all that was to be in the shoot until I walked into Pottery Barn. My friends there have been so supportive of me this year collaborating with my now for the 4th time. I picked up the antler napkin rings which ties everything together, the birch candles and…the fur stocking. As soon as I saw that, I knew exactly what the whole thing meant. To be able to have the model hold that stocking with beautiful florals in it just said everything about the shoot. The shoot was no easy feat. We had to postpone it due to weather last week and Wednesday was going to be stunning. Nope…winter interjected. Rained the whole time the bride was getting ready with the wonderful Cheek to Cheek Artistry and we had to set up in it with a bunch of umbrellas. But as soon as the model arrive…the rain stopped and we got a perfect window to shoot. I could not have done it without Annette from Wheat and Honey by my side to help coordinate and set everything up in the small window we had."
