Wedding date: September 6, 2020
Michelle and Mehrdad Bokhour originally dreamed of a fairytale wedding surrounded by throngs of their nearest and dearest at the Beverly Hills Hotel, but as with all weddings set in spring 2020, those plans were put on hold. After the untimely passing of Michelle’s cousin, who was to be her maid of honor, the couple decided they couldn’t wait any longer. Cielo Farms proved to be the perfect locale for their ceremony, while the reception was at nearby Saddlerock Ranch. Michelle’s Vera Wang gown served as a starting point for the design direction. With its feathery, ethereal hem, the dress inspired the neutral, romantic look of the ceremony. Michelle’s dream of a white-carpet floor was reimagined with an outdoor twist, resulting in a modern garden version of a ballroom reception. A floral wonderland was created with stunning arches of white roses featuring sparkling chandeliers, blurring the line between ballroom and garden. Since the pandemic made the traditional Persian sweet table unsafe for sharing among guests, Maison de la Fork designed individual acrylic boxes of treats. Though their initial plans had to be rethought, Michelle and Mehrdad's wedding was the elegant affair they always imagined.
