Joanne Patalot and Daryll Cortes’ love story began in eighth grade when they attended Most Holy Trinity School in San Jose. After dating for a few months, they drifted apart and went on to high school and college. Eight years later, Joanne and Daryll reunited after connecting on Facebook. The two share a passion for all things Disney, so when their dream to marry at Disneyland didn’t happen, Dee Lee Designs transformed the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach into their very own fairy tale. In the grand ballroom, Nisie’s Enchanted Florist created a ceiling of breathtaking hanging florals composed of lush roses and orchids; the effect brought Joanne to tears when she saw it. “When I opened my eyes, my jaw dropped, and it felt like time stood still,” said Joanne. “All that mattered at that moment was Daryll and I, and the magic that surrounded us.” Special touches included a wedding cake with a Mickey Mouse hidden within, an exquisite Champagne tower and late-night snacks to keep their guests fueled on the dance floor.
