Los Angeles’ Good Gracious! Events has created a new angle for food loving-couples to impress their guests by applying a pop-up restaurant concept to weddings and events. Ideal for everything from engagement parties to reception dinners, Good Gracious’ owner Pauline Parry tailors a unique dining experience for up to 150 by creating a restaurant-style setting, complete with a hostess and dinner menu. “It’s a great way to break up the energy of the evening,” explains Parry. “The idea originally came about at an event where we were having a cocktail party during dinner hour, but we wanted the guests to experience a four course dinner as well.”
Guests can book a table or join friends wherever there’s an open space. Tray-passed bites like Dungeness crab deviled quail eggs, curried chicken sliders and rosemary fig wands kept the sippers sated while diners chose between grilled rack of lamb zatar, green Thai coconut curry and grilled flat iron steak with fries, crispy tempura onion rings and a complex mushroom sauce. Parry’s design encourages guests to move, mingle and eat by incorporating interactive stations, such as a build-your-own caprese salad bar, roving carts carrying a seafood dish (think deconstructed sushi salad) espresso stations and even fresh popcorn vendor with an array of salts, butter and toppings to order.
