When Christina Lockett and Jay Hewitt toured Millwick in downtown Los Angeles, they knew they had found their wedding venue the moment they spotted the funky disco ball. During their three-year-long engagement, the couple had dreamed of a warm, tropical vibe that would put friends and family in the mood to celebrate and dance. And their wedding did just that, with guests grooving so enthusiastically to the music that Millwick’s disco ball came crashing to the floor, making their day truly unforgettable! For the reception, the couple aimed to re-create their Southeast Asia trip where Jay had proposed, by infusing the industrial-chic space with a cool, laid-back vibe that was nonetheless vibrant. Millwick’s endless greenery and Layered Vintage’s creative vision brought this urban jungle to life, achieving the couple’s dream. Vibrant coral, orange and pink flowers were whimsically arranged in a jaw-dropping installation that hung over the head table. The addition of spray-painted baby’s breath gave the design a unique edge by combining color and texture to create a cloud-like canopy. To ensure a casual ambiance, the couple opted for two long tables and a family-style meal. The evening ended with dancing—and even a little Christmas in October as the bride insisted on boogying down to Mariah Carey’s seasonal hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”
