Alyssa Summey had a good reason for getting married just two days short
of the iconic 10/10/10—October 8, instead, was her tenth anniversary
with David Kayo, whom she met as a teenager at an art festival right by
her future wedding venue.
Indeed, as the wedding coordinator at
Seven-Degrees event space for the past five years, the location of her
own big day was never a question. Alyssa decided to transform the modern
creative space into a romantic yet contemporary setting, with plenty of
lush black magic roses and purple calla lilies. The natural beauty took
center stage during the ceremony on the terrace, but things turned
swanky for the reception inside the media lounge, thanks to rich red
lighting, dramatic Manzanita tree centerpieces, and an ice bar and
cocktail luge. David’s special touch: a cigar lounge with coffee cart to
catch up with his buddies. With plenty of dancing and a late-night
bonus of mini grilled cheese and tomato bisque, the celebration lasted
well into 10/9/10.
