California Wedding Day Celebrates the Best of 2017 at Vibiana

We couldn't be more excited to share all the beauty from our travel-themed Best of 2017 gala at downtown Los Angele's historic Vibiana. California Wedding Day hosted more than 500 of Southern California's top wedding industry professionals to celebrate the finalists for Best of 2017--and announce the winners. Under the helm of our fearless captains, Travis McBurney of True Colors Events and Lisa Khan of Lisa Khan Events, and with incredible support from Rayce Pr, we joined forces with a talented team of vendors (see list below) to create an around-the-world experience from London to Morroco to the Amalfi Coast.

Guests were greeted in Vibiana's iconic foyer which was transformed into a modern-meets-vintage inspired terminal by Percy Sales Events and florist Lilla Bello along with decor and details from Found Rentals and 204 Event Rentals with dramatic lighting by Waveform Events, Entertainment and Lighting. Guest enjoyed cocktails from watermelon Sandia Margaritas featuring Casamigos Tequila, wine from Ancient Peaks Winery at Oyster Ridge and beer from Boomtown Brewery alongside Chef Neal Fraser and his culinary team's pre-flight snacks which included Nori Popcorn, Purple Potato Chips with Merken Salt, Potato & Caviar “Egg," and Compressed Watermelon with Octopus. Fotospark kept guests entertained with an interactive photo booth featuring exotic backdrops and a cool animation.

The award show took place in the Vibiana courtyard where Editor-in-Chief Lara Burnap and Publisher Thea Hargrove announced the much-anticipated winners of the California Wedding Day's Best of 2017, be sure to check out the full list of winners here and pick up our June issue of the magazine for more details! Expressionary Films set the travel-themed mood for the night's festivities by leading off the awards ceremony with this expertly produced video:

After the awards ceremony concluded, guests headed inside where guests were able to dine, drink and celebrate among different lounge areas including London, Amalfi Coast, and Morrocco. The silent disco with dance floor and deejay booths by Absolutely Fabulous was the hit of the night with a battle of deejays featuring Waveform Events, Red Shoe LA and Krieger--all of whom kept the dance floor at capacity until the final hour.

And guests that needed to refuel had plenty of gourmet options from Fraser's culinary team from passed hors d'oeuvres that included crispy pork belly with wasabi peas and nori, fried chicken sliders, duck bao to fully loaded dinner stations themed to each destination. And of course, sweet treats including tasty donuts were served up by Fantasy Frostings.
