When Mari Cardoos said “I do” to Jon Layne, owner of the Los Angeles-based event company Party Layne, she knew planning their wedding was going to be a unique process. It quickly became evident that with Jon’s passion for design and Mari’s attention to detail, they would make a brilliant team. The dynamic duo worked side by side to create an immaculate affair and the best four days of their lives.
After trekking the California coast in search of their dream location, Mari and Jon fell in love with Los Olivos’ charming small-town ambience. Their ceremony took place at the vineyard at Fess Parker Vineyard, where guests were seated in a vast open field surrounded by acres of rolling hills. And it's the details that make this wedding incredibly unique, from programs printed on kraft paper and wrapped around custom scalloped handkerchiefs engraved with love-song quotations to perfectly elegant table settings graced with candles and beautiful lavender-hued florals.
After witnessing the couple’s tear-inducing vows, everyone was transported to the Fess Parker Wine Country Inn & Spa for an outdoor cocktail reception, dinner and dancing. The couple opted for a rustic yet eclectic reception where guests shared a family-style meal around long tables adorned in white linen, custom wood runners and delicate lace napkins custom-designed to match Mari’s Ulla-Maija gown. Soft floral centerpieces, featuring white peonies and roses and sprinkled with blue hydrangea and purple anemones, were surrounded by flickering candles that made the garden setting glow.
Mari and Jon’s Friday ceremony gave them the rest of the weekend to spend quality time with their family and friends, and not a single moment was wasted. The four-day extravaganza included an opening costume party celebrating Halloween, a day-after-the-wedding tour of Los Olivos' vineyards and a chill Tacos and Tequila party (photos to come soon!) with a final farewell brunch to end the celebration. From arrival to departure, the wedding was designed and executed to perfection, and this amazing couple proved that a bride and groom can work together to create wedding magic.
