DJ Krieger's tips for starting the party

Krieger has been awarded California Wedding Day’s title of Best DJ in LA for three years because he is an expert in bringing events of all sizes to life with music. While many elements of wedding planning become simpler with a shorter guest list, the job of the DJ does not.

HIRE AN EXPERIENCED PRO. “Most people prefer to get lost in the crowd, but at a small wedding, that’s not an option. Your DJ will need to read the room closely, because if five people don’t like a song, that might be half the dance floor.”

COMMUNICATION IS KEY. “The vibe at a microwedding can change quickly, so make sure your DJ understands what’s most important to you, and that you trust them to make decisions in the moment to achieve your vision.”

CONSIDER SAFETY. “Keep in mind that your DJ should take extra steps to protect themselves and guests by bringing things like extra mics to sanitize between toasts.”

“OUR FAMILIES WERE ON THE DANCE FLOOR ALL NIGHT—WITH MASKS AND ALL—AND EVEN THE KIDS WERE DANCING UP A STORM. KRIEGER WAS
WILLING TO STAY LONGER FOR US WHEN IT WAS CLEAR WE DIDN’T WANT THE NIGHT TO END. ” —Melanie Faessler, bride
