Inspired by the Western-styled blend of bohemian vibes of The Goodland in Santa Barbara, photographer Alexandra Wallace set out to capture the spirit of a young elopement in this creative styled shoot. She knew she had to find the venue when she spotted a photo of the hotel lobby on Instagram. "When I looked to see where this beauty was located, it turned out to be a couple of blocks down the same street in Goleta from where my dad had owned a business for most of my childhood. This was a place I was destined to find," says Wallace.
The bride wore a light, flowing gown adorned in lace by Rebecca Schoneveld that added a feminine elegance and looked stunning against the many bright scenes of the hotel. Soft waves in the hair and subtle makeup by Heritage Salon and Alex Evans Makeup Artist added to the relaxed feel of the shoot. Wallace opted for a beautiful bouquet composed entirely of greenery by Forage Florals to enhance the fresh character of the venue. Unique, modern stationery by Salt and Stag Creative added a pop of color and incorporated design elements directly from the hotel itself.
This shoot is a feast for the visual senses, showcasing elements of nostalgia and Americana positioned next to raw and avant garde touches. The mixture of greenery, tiling and vintage wood paneling paired with the bride's tattoo and modern bouquet capture a unique style that is retro in essence with a foward-thinking and modern touch.
