Anh Nguyen and Alan Vu wed at Venue by Three Petals in Huntington Beach with a day that paired refined white details with glimmering infusions of gold. As the founder and planner at Sweet Events by Anh, our bride was excited to step into the wedding spotlight herself after her vast experiences helping to perfect weddings for other couples. Three Petals Design curated a day that was an opulent and floral-filled showcase of true love, featuring gorgeous décor. Anh and Alan decided to tie the knot on their seventh dating anniversary, and the day reflected their immense love for each other and their history together. Cultural elements also found their way into the design, which paid homage to Vietnamese roots with both our bride and groom changing into custom Vietnamese attire called ao dai for the end of the evening. Anh notably opted for a look that paired traditional elements with more modern lacy touches. Violinist Ben Hoyt provided music for the day, and wowed many guests with an emotional rendition of “Lòng Mẹ," a traditional Vietnamese song that even moved some to tears.

The reception was simply grandiose - a luscious showcase of flora and regal metallics. Anh elaborated on the reception design, "Three Petals Design created absolute magic to transform the venue with black floors and white walls, to a stunning space with cascading florals, floral chandeliers, and crystal chandeliers with gold accents glimmering as it reflected off of hundreds of candles. They incorporated my favorite florals of peonies, and then added roses, bleached ferns and gold leaves for more dimension, texture, and glamour!" One Vietnamese tradition that was prominent in the reception was table rounds, which are the process of making sure to visit each table to hear words of wisdom from guests and thank them for their attendance. Food was also a central part of the night, which featured a 7-course family-style meal that paid homage to Alan and Anh's 7 years of dating, including shrimp, chilean sea bass, lobster, and braised short rib. Our newlyweds and their guests were both delighted to also have a late night snack with an In-N-Out truck serving up burgers and fries to top things off. Details truly were around every turn, with a boba bar, nitrogen popcorn and ice cream options, a balloon artist and a quintessential dry-ice champagne tower making their way into the reception. Paying homage to their guests who traveled to be part of their day was a big part of the vision for Alan and Anh, who opted to have baskets of flip flops around the venue for guests to change out of heels and made sure to plan out the guest experience to a tee. Given Anh's background as a planner herself, it's no surprise that the result was a delightful night of festivities that retained an ambience of intimacy. To close out the night, lion dancers put on a show for our couple and posed for pictures.
