Floral Notes
For their nuptials at The Resort at Pelican Hill, Nicola and Bryce Chacon envisioned a romantic, magical wedding inspired by the movie Twilight. The breathtaking ceremony at the resort’s grand rotunda featured a floral-wrapped crystal chandelier and petal-strewn aisle flanked by majestic olive trees that formed an arch. The reception in the Mar Vista Ballroom was transformed into an enchanted garden with a floral ceiling lavishly dripping in white wisteria over a seamless white dance floor. The inclusion of finely draped walls, Chiavari chairs with a chiffon treatment and roses tied to each individual’s napkin, brought the fairy tale setting to pure perfection.

A Winter’s Tale
Kathryn and Walker Franks’ dreams of a winter wedding in sunny Southern California led to this luxurious affair. Party Pleasers’ Andrew Evans transformed the industrial 5,000-square-foot airplane hangar by building a white-draped tent inside the space. A modern mix of rustic details with luxurious textures, such as custom faux-fur table runners and velvet linens intermingled with farm tables and modern wood chandeliers, warmed the wintry palette. Lush greenery, rich white roses, peonies and calla lilies mingled with dahlias, astilbe, tuberose and ranunculus were arranged in tall candelabras and low mercury glass compotes. Earthy geometric lanterns and mercury votives were nestled among the florals. Tangles of vines softened the crystal chandeliers and glimmers of gold on the chairs and sequined cocktail tables brought warmth. “This wedding was really about mixing elements,” notes Evans. “Textures, tables, florals—everything had different elements but they all worked together to create a glamorous winter wonderland.”

Modern Affair
Jessica and Brian Lacher wanted the comforts of a ballroom, but the beauty of an outdoor residential garden. To achieve this environment, Kristin Banta Events and R. Jack Balthazar created a cozy nook over the metallic dance floor by building a modern-style pergola embellished with overgrown vines and woven lanterns. Guests were seated around the pergola at tables dressed in a mix of flax and cream linens, with aubergine runners, rattan chargers, gold flatware and mismatched purple batik napkins. The centerpieces were lush collections of plum and fuchsia florals, ferns and herbs nestled in brass containers and turquoise bottles, smatterings of amethyst stones, minerals in vintage glass boxes and an abundance of warm candlelight. A dramatic triple-length bar, flanked by luxe lounge vignettes, was embellished with wood and iron shelves detailed with herbs, florals and candles.
