RAELEEN’S
INTEREST IN NICK was sparked when the two met en route to a bar with mutual friends
six years ago. Initially, they were in separate cars, but Nick switched so he
could ride with her and introduce himself—and they haven’t looked in the
rearview mirror since. Following an intimate proposal in Chicago, the
Pasadena-based couple set about creating a wedding that was modern, romantic
and personal. They skipped traditions like the bouquet and garter toss, but
opted to keep the classic send-off, with their own twist. Guests lined the exit
with flickering sparklers to create a stunning sight in the midwinter evening
as Raeleen and Nick made a dramatic—and joyful—exit.
