Bride Callais and groom Kyle tied the knot at Estancia La Jolla in San Diego with its beautiful Spanish style architecture and sweeping views. Say the bride, Callais, "We knew that it was the perfect spot for us and checked off all the boxes! We loved the hacienda-style resort and rancho-inspired architecture; it felt very true to San Diego. I grew up as a competitive horseback rider, so nod’s to the hotel’s previous life as a working equestrian ranch made it extra special for me and had that sentimental feeling that we wanted. And since a vast majority of our guests would be travelling from out of town (Philly, New York, Palo Alto and Canada) we knew they would be trying to make a trip out of it and Sunny San Diego in our opinion is quintessential West Coast. Being able to have our ceremony and reception in one place made for such a relaxing and stress-free day!"
The greenery of the estate was highlighted with simple florals by Blush Botanicals, from the bride’s bouquet of white roses to the ceremony and reception décor. Soft pinks in the bridesmaid’s dresses and floral arrangements added an elegant pop of color, creating a soft light color palette for the gorgeous outdoor ceremony designed by Ever After Events. "We really focused on a soft neutral palette-featuring blush, ivory and creams, with lots of natural fresh greens and a subtle mixture of woods, mirrored pieces and golds. I drew a lot of my inspiration from my favorite home furnishing store, Restoration Hardware, which I think does a great job of combining masculine and feminine elements," says Callais.
Lanterns of varying sizes, shapes and colors lined the aisle, adding an eclectic vibe that blended perfectly into the venue. Two crystal chandeliers hung on arbors at the beginning and end of the aisle, where the couple said their vows atop Spanish style stairs. A grand metallic mirror served as the backdrop for Callais and Kyle’s “I do’s,” a simple and unique touch that looked stunning among the classic architecture.
Circular tables adorned with glassware and white accents filled the indoor reception area. Tall metallic vases brimming with florals and greens sat in the center of each table, a sophisticated and graceful addition to the beautiful tablescapes. A delicious four-tiered wedding cake accented with blush colored flowers by Sweet Cheeks Baking Co. topped off Callais and Kyle’s dream day, "Our wedding was by far our most special day yet. From rolling out of bed and joining my bridesmaids in the bridal suite and dancing to “Going to the Chapel” to the Groomsmen golfing Torrey Pines first thing and returning to the hotel to play beer pong while they got ready. Every part of the day was so much fun," says Callais. "The highlight for us was the ceremony and the exchange of our vows. Hearing one another recite such devoted words of commitment to each other in front of all of our closest family and friends is truly a special feeling."
