The couple wanted to get married in LA where they live but wanted to incorporate a Southern feel to pay homage to Macey’s Texas roots. The reception area showcased two fun Airstreams and the perfect space to personalize the design. For a late-night snack, guests were treated to honey chicken biscuits and Dr. Pepper, “as close to Whataburger as it gets in Malibu,” says Macey.
Macey adores Elvis, so the couple’s specialty cocktails were a Memphis Mule nicknamed the “Maceland” and a Strawberry Mint Julep coined the “Pink Chadillac.” The bride and her bridesmaids went to Graceland for Macey’s bachelorette party, where she purchased cufflinks showcasing Elvis’ famous “Taking Care of Business” logo. The two danced to “The Wonder of You” by Elvis for their first dance.
Macey and Chad’s sweet Wheaten Terrier, PopTart, served as the “flower dog” in the ceremony, sporting the cutest floral collar. Chad was surprised with a huge cinnamon roll flavored PopTart cake for his Groom’s Cake, and guests were given a slice as a party favor.
Crisp whites paired with delicate greenery set the stage for the day. Hints of blue were added throughout the day, from the bridesmaid’s gowns, to the ring box and décor. Macey stunned in a collared gown with a sheer neckline and carried a beautiful bouquet of garden roses, veronica, mint and more. The reception highlighted a formal yet laidback vibe, complete with beautiful blue chinoiserie, elegant lounge spaces and vintage pieces, flawlessly blending Southern charm into the California affair. The cake showcased the same design as Macey’s wedding gown, intricately piped on the three tiers. The design was also mimicked on the dinner menus, adding a personal and unique touch to the day.
