Leah, who was notorious for canceling dates, pulled her usual change of heart after Ryan first asked Leah out after their meeting at the Wild Goose Tavern in Costa Mesa. But something compelled Leah to follow up, and she asked him to join her and friends for a casual outing to an Angels vs. Yankees game. Three dates followed that week in quick succession—with no cancellations!
When the couple became engaged, it turned out that Leah’s father, who works in the wine industry (Circle Vision and Sierra Madre Vineyard) had been fermenting a special batch of Champagne for her future wedding. With this in mind, Leah envisioned a wine-themed wedding in a classic, elegant setting. Delicate touches like the mirrored escort-card table nestled with gold lanterns, white roses and eucalyptus leaves atop wine barrels perfectly embodied the look she had imagined.
Leah and Ryan recited their vows beneath a grand wooden arbor bedecked with abundant white florals and rich greenery by Flowers by Cina. Soft white draping brought a romantic touch to the ocean-front arbor as did the white flower petals that had been sprinkled along the aisle. Two custom, hand-calligraphed wooden signs flanked the ceremony entrance displaying the couple’s favorite Bible verse, as well as the “Circle” poem about family—a nod to Leah’s surname and their growing family.
Evidence of Leah’s family’s winery ways were found throughout, from the wine boxes to table names—“Nebbiolo,” “Pinot Noir,” “Cabernet Franc,” “Sauvignon Blanc” and others. Also, as a parting favor, guests received a bottle of wine crafted by Leah’s father.
The couple’s monogram was incorporated in many ways throughout their special day, including the stationery and as a charming topper for the decadent three-tiered cake. A beautiful hedge set the stage for the band, with Leah and Ryan’s monogram artfully placed among a swatch of florals.
The stunning indoor reception was a seamless continuation of the outdoors, featuring a clean palette of white accented with lovely greenery. Simple yet sophisticated table settings drew attention to tall centerpieces lush with white blooms and foliage, while cork placecard holders and wooden parlor chairs (with the bride’s and groom’s decorated with wooden signs) added a classy touch to the ballroom.
